Bruce Hardman

A self-taught local artist, Bruce emigrated from South Africa with his wife and young family in the '90s.

His painting hobby, always kept Bruce centred and relaxed, and taught him to appreciate the beauty of the local scenery. Currently residing in beautiful Norfolk County, Bruce is constantly inspired by Lake Erie, Barns, Tobacco Kilns and the surrounding countryside.

Besides the enjoyment of painting the many beautiful local scenes and the changing seasons, Bruce also draws inspirations from the vastly differing land and seascapes from his younger years in South Africa.   “I often challenge my abilities and venture out of my comfort zone and explore capturing other subjects that pique my artistic interests.”

A busier career restricted his painting time, so to feed his fix, Bruce resorted to painting mini canvases that allowed him to complete a painting in one or two sittings.  These mini original art pieces have become his signature and have proven very popular to his customers.

Bruce’s art is currently on display and for sale at his studio, in The Loft at The Grange, in the Rustic Feather Barntique in Walsh and at the Woodhouse Gallery in Port Dover. He has previously exhibited at theCapitol Arts Market in Simcoe,  Bronte Art Gallery, Co-Op Art Gallery in Goderich and he has participated in many Art Crawl evenings in Hamilton.
